June 23, 2008 marked the opening of the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott located in Cartersville, Georgia. This newest hotel is the sixth property to be added to Duke Hospitality’s portfolio. So far ramp-up is strong with higher than forecasted occupancies and RevPar despite uncertain economic times.

September has been exciting time for Duke Hospitality. With the recent conversion of the AmeriSuites in Lithonia, Georgia to the new Hyatt Place, the hotel has seen exceptional growth in both ADR and RevPar. This has provided a positive outlook on Hyatt Place and its performance both in the corporate and leisure markets. Two new Marriott properties were approved for construction. Plans are underway for a Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Duluth, GA as well as our first Courtyard by Marriott located at Stonecrest Mall in Lithonia, Georgia. Both hotels are scheduled for an early 2011 opening!

Construction is ready to begin in Athens, Georgia on a seventy-four room La Quinta Inn & Suites scheduled to open mid-2010. The Athens market is taking off and forecasting for the Athens area shows excellent opportunities for 2010 and beyond.
